116 HAITIAN NATIONALS TO APPEAR IN INAGUA MAGISTRATE’S COURT
On today’s date, (85) adult Males and (31) adult Females are expected to appear before Deputy Chief Magistrate Andrew Forbes to face charges of Illegal Entry. Vonetta Darling-Flowers, Senior Immigration Officer will be prosecuting this matter.
This group was detected on November 12, 2019, by Operation Bahamas Turks and Caicos (OPBAT) while on a routine patrol in waters on the southeastern end of Great Inagua. They were apprehended on November 13 and November 15 2019, by the joint effort of the Royal Bahamas Defence Force (RBDF), Royal Bahamas Police Force (RBPF), United States Coast Guard, and United States Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) along with a team of Immigration Officials on the island.
The Department will continue its commitment to carrying out the mandates of our agency to combat illegal migration by establishing effective border control management in compliance with the Statute Laws of our country.
