7 HAITIAN NATIONALS APPREHENDED DURING A JOINT OPERATION BY IMMIGRATION, RBPF AND RBDF
‘Operation Impact’ commenced at 8:30PM on March 1st 2019 in New Providence which led to the arrest of (7) Haitian nationals, who were subsequently transported to the Detention Center, Carmichael Road for further processing. This group comprised of (3) Females and (4) Males.
Chief Immigration Officer Harold Thurston, Immigration Enforcement Unit and the K-9 Unit with Officer David Rolle, Officers of The Royal Bahamas Defence Force (RBDF) joined The Royal Bahamas Police Force (RBPF) Southwestern and Southern Divisions led by Chief Superintendent Bruce Arnett in this combined effort. This operation covered areas inclusive of Carmichael Road, Faith Avenue, Cowpen Road, Baillou Hill Road South, East Street North, Collins Avenue and Wulff Road.
We wish to remind the general public that we are committed to carrying out the mandates of all Law Enforcement agencies in combating illegal migration, immigration offences and criminal offences. This results in a number of persons being arrested for various criminal offences by RBPF.
The Department will continue these strategic planning efforts, operationalize our resources to establish effective border control management and to ensure compliance with our immigration laws.
