80th Anniversary Celebration Church Service (New Providence)

Today 26th May, 2019 – was a day of reflection for the Immigration Department; as we concluded our ” Immigration Awareness Month of May” 80th Anniversary Celebratory events with our Church Service at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, Boyd Road, New Providence at 3pm. We wish to thank the Roman Catholic Bishop Patrick Pinder for giving us the privilege of celebrating at one of his Parishes and the Vicar General Father Kenrick Forbes for bringing an inspirational Homily, Reverend Palacious for enlightening food for thought as he Offered Prayers for the Agency, Nation and Forces; as our very own Pastor/Security Officer Deangelo Moss put down prayer for The Director and His Family and our Agency likewise. Special thanks to  SOI Ephraim Rolle and the Immigration Choir who brought down the house in splendid song. Truly a blessing! Special Thanks and Praise to SOI Mispah Smith and the Immigration Social and Welfare Club on their Organisational Skills and putting these events together in spite of the odds. We thank Sen. The Hon. Frederick A. Mitchell for his presence, PS Jack Thompson, PS Rhoda Jackson, Our very own PS Cora Colebrooke, Chairperson Justice Malcolm Adderley and his lovely Wife Mrs. Adderley, The Vice Counsel Mr. Yin Haigang and 3rd Secretary Ms. Ren Tin Ting in attendance from the Chinese Embassy, Commissioner Charles Murphy and his Team from Bahamas Correctional Services, Chief Supt. Perry Clarke and his continguent from the RBPF., Dr. Andrew Hunter from the “C. C. Sweeting Class of 1978”, past and present Senior and Junior Staff of our Agency and Last but in no way least, ADOI Fausteen Major-Smith out of Abaco, ADOI Dwight Beneby, ADOI Keturah Ferguson, Superintendents and all other attending Officers of our Great Agency of all Ranks and our Civilian Support Staff Headed by FAS Karen Neilly, FO Althea Smith and Admin. Asst. Mrs. Angela McKenzie. Thank you CIO Gordon for your expertise today and talents on the Church Organ. To ZNS and the Church Congregation present alongside  Sister  Bernadette Flowers-Pinder (Old Faithful); you all made this gathering a great success. God Jehovah was truly in that place in a Special Way.
