Seventy-five (75) Haitian Nationals Repatriated
At 1:06 p.m. on Friday 12th June, 2020 the Immigration Department repatriated seventy-five (75) convicted Haitian nationals (67 Adult Males & 8 Adult Females) to their homeland from New Providence via Bahamasair Flight UP901 with direct service into Port au Prince, Haiti. Mr. Peter Joseph, Superintendent of Immigration and Officer in Charge of the Detention Centre, accompanied the repatriation Security Team of Immigration and Defence Force Officers on the flight.
The ZNS news team was on the scene at the Lynden Pindling International Airport and conducted an interview with Director of Immigration, Mr. Clarence Russell II, as he and Assistant Director Mr. Dwight Beneby oversaw the successful departure of said flight.
