Becoming an Immigration Officer
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF IMMIGRATION
- Individuals must be Bahamian citizens between the ages of 18 to 30 years.
- Have no criminal record (Clean Police Record).
- Must possess a minimum of two Bahamas General Certificates of Secondary Education (B.G.C.S.E) with grade C or above or equivalent.
Trainee Immigration Officers maintain a formal classroom setting for four months and on-the-job training for the remaining eight months.
SALARIES (ENTRY LEVEL)
Trainee Immigration Officers | $18,000.00 annually |
Immigration Guard | $13,250.00 – $23,650 annually |
Clerks – A minimum of two B.G.C.S.E. subjects or equivalent is required. | $13,200.00 – $21,750.00 annually |
Trainee Administrative Cadets – A minimum of a Diploma, which would normally represent two-thirds or more of a program. | $10,700.00 – $23,450 annually |
Janitors / Messenger – A minimum of three or four B.J.C. subjects is required. | $10,700.00 – $21,050.00 annually |
