CIO Vonetta Darling has successfully participated in the Advanced Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) Training and Train-The-Trainer Instructor Certification in Denmark, Tennessee, U.S.A from November 18–22, 2024.

This prestigious training builds on the foundational skills acquired during the CIT
Basic Training held in May 2024. It equips participants with advanced techniques for de-escalating crises, addressing the unique challenges faced by veterans, and managing critical incidents involving individuals with mental health or developmental conditions.

The program emphasized practical applications, including strategies for officer-consumer interactions, handling situational crises, and supporting individuals experiencing trauma. Officer Darling also gained certification to train others within the Department, ensuring these invaluable skills will be shared across our team.

This advanced training not only strengthens the Department’s capacity to respond to crises effectively but also reinforces our commitment to providing compassionate and professional service to vulnerable populations. We extend our gratitude to Officer Darling for her dedication and look forward to the positive impact this expertise will bring to the Department and the wider community.
