JOINT OPERATION CONDUCTED BY IMMIGRATION , RBPF, RBDF & BAHAMAS CUSTOMS OFFICERS
(11) Haitian males (9) Haitian females (1) Haitian child and (2) Jamaican males were arrested by Officers of The Department of Immigration on Friday, 8th February, 2019 as Operation Fresh Start continued here in the capital. They were later transported to the Detention Center, Carmichael Road for further processing.
In an effort to (a) Apprehend Illegal Immigrants and wanted persons (b) Prevent and Detect Crime (c) Seize Un-Customed Goods (d) Ensure that Resident are safe (e) Ensure Police Presence, Officers of the Department of Immigration, RBPF, RBDF along with Bahamas Customs Department mounted a joint operation which took them throughout various communities throughout New Providence inclusive of Nassau Village, Pinewood Gardens, Flamingo Gardens, Bain Town amongst others. Additionally, several persons and vehicles were stopped, checked and persons arrested for various criminal offences along with several seizures made by The Customs Department.
The intent of this ongoing operation is to remind the general public that the Agencies are serious and united in carrying out their mandates of combating crimes in all form and ridding the country of illegal immigrants.
