Department paid last respects at State-Recognized Funeral Service for Philip Christopher Galanis
On Thursday, November 1, a state-recognized funeral service was held for the late Philip Christopher Galanis, former Senator and Member of Parliament, at St. Francis Xavier Cathedral, West Street North, Nassau, New Providence.
The service was attended by Her Excellency the Governor-General, Cynthia Pratt, Prime Minister the Honourable Philip Davis, Deputy Prime Minister the Honourable I. Chester Cooper, and the Honourable Alfred Sears, Minister of Immigration and National Insurance, among other dignitaries. Superintendent Allan Smith and a team of officers also attended to pay their respects.
Mr. Galanis was remembered for his unwavering commitment to the development of the nation and his contributions to both Parliament and the wider community. The solemn occasion was marked by a show of national unity, with government officials and law enforcement counterparts honouring his legacy and service to the country.
The Department of Immigration joins the nation in extending heartfelt condolences to the family and loved ones of the late Philip Christopher Galanis.
